If you'll be working out of the local hospital, then housing near this area is obviously ideal. You won't have to travel very far to work and waste a bunch of money on gas.

It's also a great idea to consider rental houses near the center of town. This way, you'll have an easier time getting to various locations. It may be grocery stores, clothing departments, or entertainment centers. Finally, you want to make sure the location of the rental house is in a good part of town so that you feel completely safe. 

Read Through Tenant Protocol

After you find a couple of rental houses you think will work great for your travel nursing career, it's a good idea to go through the tenant protocol. The owner of the dwelling should have this readily available for you so that you know exactly what you're getting yourself into.

Pay attention to relevant details like what things you can customize in the home, how you're supposed to deal with trash, and whether or not you're supposed to take care of the lawn. Knowing these details will help you determine pretty quick what sort of living situation you'll have for an extended period of time.
